Šentvid pri Zavodnju is a dispersed settlement in the Šoštanj municipality in northern Slovenia. It lies in the Mozirske planine hills to the northwest the town of Šoštanj. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. The entire municipality is now included in the Savinja statistical region.[2]
On 22 February 1944 the Slovene poet and national hero Karel Destovnik Kajuh was killed in fighting with Nazi troops in Žlebnik to the south of the settlement. A simple granite block marks the site.[3]
